Ecuadorian Endangered Species Project

This project aims to disseminate the conservation status of the fauna of Ecuador, for this, the project Red Book of the Fauna of Ecuador was developed, divided into three volumes: Red Book of Mammals, Red Book of Birds and Red Book of Reptiles The Red Books of Mammals and Birds were edited by their respective specialists and are currently part of other institutions; on the other hand, the Red Book of Reptiles belongs to the EducaEditores Foundation. The results of this project were disseminated through a pedagogical instrument called the Album of Endangered Animals, of which four editions have been made and has reached more than 250,000 beneficiaries.

The resources are destined for:  

  • Finance student visits to the country's protected areas, mainly to the Yasuní National Park and the Galapagos National Park.  

 

  • Together with the community, carry out work for the protection and conservation of species that are in danger of extinction.

  

  • Financing of scientific research related to the conservation of the natural and cultural heritage of Ecuador.

  • To finance the production of educational material necessary for environmental and cultural education for children and adolescents.
